VTVFCF October Interim Newsletter
Hello to all Members and all Subscribers to our Newsletter.
This is where some of the money that you, our supporters help us to raise, goes to.
Yesterday 9th of October members travelled to Hoa Binh, in Xuyen Moc district, approximately 60 kilometers North East of Vung Tau. We visited two schools, Hoa Binh Infant’s School and Hoa Binh Primary School. All the children we assisted were certified as being from poor, underprivileged families by the Peoples Committee and the Police.

At Hoa Binh Infant’s School we delivered 20 pushbikes, 30 sports uniforms and 30 certificates for health insurance which the children must have to attend school. The bikes were for children that have a long way to come to school and most of them could ride without much trouble though there were a couple that will probably need a bit of practice!
The two little boys dressed in brown that you can see in the photo, (there are actually three) are orphans who have no families to look after them and have been taken in by the Buddhist Monks. Many of the other children are also orphans or abandoned, but have other family members to look after them.

At Hoa Binh Secondary School ( the Vietnamese curriculum is based on the American system and curriculum. Their Secondary School is equivalent to our Primary School,) we delivered 2 pushbikes, 32 certificates for health and accident insurance, and 32 sports uniforms. Once in Secondary School, children are required to have accident, as well as health insurance.

The English teacher (wearing the blue and white Ao Dai, explained that the children do 5 periods of English per week and as from next year English will be taught as a second language. Quite amazing at both schools the number of children that could speak some English.

The best part was the smiles and appreciation shown to us by everyone. The smiles on the children’s faces is all the reward that we need.

If you are on our Website we do have a tour booking button and a donation button. We know things are tough in Oz at the moment, but any amount would be gratefully received.
Many thanks for your support, best wishes to all from VTV&FCF. Until next time.
Chris Blacket.
