I got in touch to book a tour at very short notice while I was visiting Ho Chi Minh city for work - Warren got everything sorted out for me, including a good value hotel. The tour was very thorough (I had already read about the Battle of Long Tan but I still learned more) and the guides, one Aussie veteran, one local, were great company. Visiting the battlefields was a very moving experience, making it all the more impressive that the VTVFCF do such good charitable work in the region. Get the ferry from HCM to Vung Tau for the scenery, and enjoy a beer or two at Belly's with the veterans.More

A tour around Vung Rau area and visit to Long Tam memorial, some tunnels (not Chu Chu), Nui Dat,and many other special places. Included in the tour are visits to various projects which have been completed die to the volunteering efforts of this group of expats and vets. I was very impressed by the way these tours can be adapted to the specific needs of the tour group. I learnt a lot about the Aussie troups station in this area. Most of what you pay for the trip goes to the fund. Everyone who goes to HCMC or Vung Tau should do this tour at least once...I've been twice!

Met Warren and his team at Bellys Bar the day before. Good feed, beers and brief for the following days tour. ANZAC dawn service at a local Aussie pub, then breakfast back at Bellys. Tour bus with Aussie Veteren and Vietnamese guides. Fantastic day visiting Long Phouc tunnels, Nui Dat, local school, Long Tan Cross and battlefield and the horseshoe. Memorable day and highly recommended for anyone interested in military history. Vung tau veterans are highly recommended as a tour group. Fees charged are put back into assisting disadvantaged through local projects.

After meeting the guys at Belly’s Bar we booked to do their tour. An excellent day, picked up at our hotel in Vung Tau by ex Australian soldiers and their Vietnamese guide and taken to many places where the Australian’s were stationed during the Vietnam war. We also visited and explored some underground tunnels. Stories told by John and Warren gave us a details of the conditions the soldiers encountered. The visit to the Long Tan cross was very moving. What is also special about this tour is the guys donate their time and use funds raised to build houses for the poor in South Vietnam who lost houses etc in the areas where Australians were based. A fantastic tour run by an excellent group of guys- a must do if you are in Vung Tau or coming on a cruise to Ho Chi Minh.
